10 Footprint Art Ideas for Kids
1. Footprint Flowers: These footprint flowers from Emma Owl are incredibly easy to make. Not only do they offer an afternoon of quality time with the littles, but the project has an element of sensory play as well. All you need is some paper and non-toxic paint. The perfect way to save your baby’s footprints!
2. Footprint Animals: Lions and tigers and bears…oh my! Whip up these animal-inspired footprint art projects from over at FunHandPrintArt. You can even take this craft a step further by making them into puppets using a brown paper bag!
3. Footprint Trees: There are countless projects to make footprints into trees on the web, but I particularly adore this Four Seasons Handprint Art found at Rhythms of Play. Even though the tutorial uses hand and fingerprints, it can easily be adapted to create canvases with footprints! Alternatively, have each family member make their own individual tree and combine them to create a gorgeous family tree display!
4. Footprint Vehicle: With a canvas (or cardstock), a touch of paint, and construction paper, you can guide your little one to make some awesome footprint vehicles!
5. Footprint Heroes: Turn those tiny feet into superheroes or other characters with this easy-to-do project from over at Glued to My Crafts. Make them into a custom-made card for any occasion!
6. Footprint Princesses: With nothing more than a little paint and imagination, you can even create some princess-inspired that the children are sure to love. Grab a canvas and some non-toxic paint, and you’ll end up with an adorable keepsake for your children’s bedrooms!
7. Footprint Monsters & Aliens: Creating some monsters or funny aliens is easy peasy with a footprint. I especially love these little monsters from over at FrogsandSnailsandPuppyDogTail. The look on the purple monster’s face is priceless! These would make for adorable wall art in the kid’s playroom – just use canvas instead of paper.
8. Footprint Dinosaurs: Jurassic Park fans unite! These fun dinosaurs from Crafty Morning can be made with just a few materials and a rainy (or snowy) afternoon!
9. Footprint Butterflies: These rainbow butterfly footprints from Reality Daydream might just be my favorite of the footprint ideas! They make such beautiful wall art for bedrooms, but I definitely would put these in my home office. You are not limited to the rainbow effect either! Change them up by using some watercolors on canvas to create a more pastel result.
10. Footprint Sand Art: This one is a little more industrious, but the results are absolutely gorgeous! While you will most likely need a full day to work on it, this sand footprint craft from over at Paging Fun Mums is one that you will definitely want to add to your crafting to-do list!
