Laszlo will explain what the class is about in general, as well as give you a list of materials you will need in order to complete this class.
Open up Adobe InDesign, start a new document, then look around! Laszlo will explain key tools and functions as well as describe what is what in terms of the software user interface.
Laszlo will explain how you can import images into your document, and rearrange them using InDesign's 'frame' functions.
To speed up your workflow, you might want to insert multiple images and frames onto your InDesign document simultaneously. Laszlo will show you what is the best way of doing that.
Learn how to take advantage of the master page, by inserting objects here, which will appear throughout the whole of your document.
You can include live links in your interactive PDF document which could point to websites, other pages, or even open up other files outside your document - come learn how to set this up!
Indesign documents are essentially a collection of raw files (mages, text, etc.)- which might get modified or replaced, while you are designing making your InDesign document confused/obsolete. Here we learn what to do if your document is pointing at the wrong file.
Your InDesign file is not made of images only, some documents can be type-heavy, so let's talk a little bit about using the textbox functions.
What if you want to wrap text around another element – like an image? Is that possible? Of course, it is! Laszlo will be showing step-by-step instructions on how to do it.
You can overlay one big image onto multiple frames, creating more complex, interesting compositions by utilizing the compound path functions.
Once you finished designing your document, it is important to save it out in the right format. In this last lesson, Laszlo will give out some tips on that.
