Creative Map Making Part 4: Building the Base of Your Illustrated Map
What you'll learn
In this class, Laszlo will be teaching you how to design the base sheet of your map using Adobe Illustrator (– the map itself!) - a simple full-page guide, which once it is prepared, you can add your little landmark illustrations onto, which you have designed in the previous classes from this series.

Meet Laszlo and dive into the last part of this class series.
Laszlo will explain what the class is about in general, as well as give you a list of materials you will need in order to complete this class.
In the first half of this lesson, you are going to learn how to build the foundations of a basic map sheet, using Adobe Illustrator. You will use the pen tool & shape tools to trace over our image reference, in order to start bringing this digital map to life!
Once the basic shapes have been put in place, you get to let loose and experiment with a couple of different, more advanced illustrating tools & techniques, in order to really elevate the quality of your map - as well as your skills as digital illustrators!
