Reviews
So glad you enjoyed the class Cheyenne! I use an edited version of the Procreate 'Script' brush. I changed some of the brush settings such as streamlining and pressure response to get those lovely smooth lines but to maintain some of those pressure dynamics that mimic writing with a real pen. Hope this helps.

In this introductory lesson, we'll get to know each other and the tools we will be using to create authentic handwriting fonts. I'll also give you a brief outline of the class and what we will be covering.
Meet your teacher, illustrator & digital content creator Laura Jones of Laura Jane Illustrations. In this lesson, we will get a brief overview of how we will create a font of our own handwriting, the tools we will be using, and some of the steps we will follow.
In this lesson, we will take a mini tour of the Calligraphr dashboard and workspace to familiarise ourselves with some of the tools we will be using. We will also add the basic characters to our font template to start the font creation process.
In this lesson, we will use samples of our own handwriting to collect tracings for our fonts and to understand which letters we join when we are writing naturally. We will take notes on our tracings to collect a list of ligatures and we will then add these to our font template in Calligraphr. Finally, we will download our template so we are ready to start designing our final font.
In this lesson, we will start to fill out our font templates using tracings of our own handwriting. We will learn how to use the page assist tool in Procreate to support us in copying and pasting across multiple layers.
With all the samples of our ligatures in place, we will now go through our templates and look for missing basic characters.
With our font templates ready & our font designed, in this lesson we will import our files back into Calligraphr and add the final touches to our font so that it is ready to export and use. We'll learn how to make final adjustments to the size and spacing of our font & how to install it for use on our computer and iPad as well as how to import it into Procreate as a custom font!
To finish this font creation class I'll share some last tips about creating handwriting fonts.
